How Rondough fits into a prep day.

Let's walk through a real day in your kitchen using Rondough.

Step 1: Morning. Plan.

Kitchen manager sets the prep list.

Your KM (or sous) logs into Rondough. They see today's menu, special orders coming in, and what's left from yesterday.

They select recipes that need prepping today. Rondough calculates total quantities needed. They assign tasks to specific cooks or stations. Press save.

If it's an order coming Thursday, they can build and assign that list today. No scrambling mid-week.

Step 2: Shift starts. Cooks execute.

Prep cooks see clear tasks and timers.

A cook logs in at a station (their own phone or a shared tablet). They see "Today's Prep"—a list of tasks assigned to them.

They tap a task. Rondough shows them:

  • - What to make
  • - Step-by-step instructions with photos
  • - Equipment needed (with a photo of that equipment)
  • - What the finished step looks like
  • - Timers for rests, chills, or cooking

They work through it. No guessing. No asking "how much?" or "how long?" No interrupting the KM.

Step 3: Task done. Label prints.

Finished prep gets a label automatically.

Cook finishes a task. Marks it complete.

Rondough auto-generates the label:

  • - Item name
  • - Prep date & time
  • - Expiration date (auto-calculated)
  • - Initials
  • - Any special notes

Cook taps "print." Label prints from the Brother printer. Item gets labeled. Goes into cold storage or service.

No manual labels. No guessing expiration dates. No "who made this and when?"

Step 4: End of shift. You know what's done.

Clear visibility. No surprises.

KM checks Rondough before closing. They see:

  • - What prep finished today ✓
  • - What's rolling to tomorrow (and who's assigned to it)
  • - What needs attention (a task that's blocked or behind)

No ambiguity. No "did we do the stocks?" or "what's for tomorrow?" It's all there.

If tomorrow needs attention or equipment, you know it tonight. You can text the crew, prep equipment, order what's missing.
